Crosstrees

Situated on Lilliput Road in Canford Cliffs, Crosstrees is a development of 36 apartments on Dorset’s Jurassic coast.

Architects and designers MCa looked to the vernacular of Canford Cliffs when laying out their plans for the development. The four buildings sit in keeping with the neighbouring properties on Lilliput Road, and the interiors find inspiration in Dorset’s nautical heritage, evoking the superyachts that populate nearby Poole Harbour.

Through investigating the architectural plans and design inspiration, while exploring details of the surrounding landscape, we set out to present the development as an authentic interpretation of Canford Cliffs.

Encompassing both the development’s yachting theme and the Canford Cliffs landscape, the name Crosstrees alludes to the topmast of a sailing ship as well as the Dorset pine trees that surround the development. The identity looks to reflect both the scale and intricacies of Canford Cliffs, placing an emphasis on photography that captured both the landscapes and the details of the area.
